Yummy GFCF Brands
Chicken Strips: The Bell and Evans brand of chicken strips is by far the best breaded chicken option out there. I love to eat them with GFCF gravy found at Foods For Living, and home made mashed potatoes (made with rice or almond milk). What a yummy dinner
Baked Goods: My all time favorite brand of cookies and brownies is the French Meadow Bakery! They sell cookies and brownies individually, or you can buy a box of their cookie dough. I found their individually wrapped treats at Foods for Living and Guido’s (in Okemos). Foods For Living carries their products in the frozen section. They also carry other GFCF products such as bread and rolls. You can also order their items straight form their website! http://www.frenchmeadow.com/
“The Gluten-Free Pantry” Chocolate Truffle Brownie Mix is the best way to have GFCF home-made brownies! I found this mix at Meijer and made it as soon as I got home. You’ll never be able to tell that these brownies are GFCF. Just make sure to substitute the butter for 6 tablespoons of vegetable oil! The Gluten Free Pantry Company also makes many other baked goods mixes, but I haven’t tried any others yet.
Chocolate Chip Cookies: My 2nd favorite c.c. cookies is the Liz Lovely brand. They are sold in a double pack in the freezer section at Foods For Living. You can also shop online @ www.lizlovely.com
Butter Alternative: Earth Balance (original flavor) which can be found at Foods For Living is my favorite GFCF butter alternative. It’s made of 79% natural vegetable oils. Even my husband likes it!
Soup: I love the Kettle Cuisine soup line! They have many GFCF soups, but not all of them are GFCF. Check the front of the box, it’s clearly labeled. My all time favorite soup that they carry is the Angus Beeg Steak Chili With Beans. It has a wonderful blend of spices and it’s another product that even my hubby loves! The soups do NOT have any preservatives, artificial colors, or MSG! This line can be purchased at Foods For Living.
Crackers: Any good soup needs some crackers to go with it! The closest Ritz alternative would have to be Glutino’s Original Crackers. They are labeled GF, but after reading the ingredients, they seem to be Casein free as well. However, the disclaimer states that “[The crackers] may contain traces of soy, milk and sesame”. They can be found at Foods For Living.
Ice Cream: I never thought it’d be possible… Purely Decadent Cookie Dough: a Vanilla dairy-free frozen dessert packed with scrumptious cookie dough chunks and crispy chocolate flakes. And yes, it’s GFCF! http://www.turtlemountain.com
